Apple and their lackluster dongles - MIDI issues

Hi,

This is just a small venting from a Mac user, who's into music and composing.

The audio/video dongle from Apple (USBc -> USB, HDMI, USBc), which is rather expensive btw., won't transmit MIDI-signals. So I have to get another non-Apple USB-dongle/hub when connecting MIDI-keyboards to my MBA (2019 model).
This is SO lazy by Apple, I thought Apple was the big "music production" brand. Sigh....

That's a drag…and MIDI seems so simple that you'd think they made it so it wouldn't work!

There is a MIDI-related question on the product page but the one answer didn't really address whether MIDI would work at all.
