Apple today in collaboration with artist Zedd announced that a new Remix Session of Zedd's hit dance song "Clarity" is now available in GarageBand.

iPhone and iPad users can now open the GarageBand app and remix "Clarity" with guided instruction from Zedd. The free Remix Session can be downloaded in GarageBand's Sound Library, and Zedd has shared a companion video on YouTube with tips on how to remix the song in a couple of minutes using the app's Live Loops interface.

Live Loops allows GarageBand users to explore all the isolated parts of the Grammy award-winning song, such as vocals, beats, synths, and quickly rearrange and add new elements to the song, with no musical experience required.

"Clarity" is also available in Spatial Audio on Apple Music starting today following the 10-year anniversary of the song's release last month.

Wow, this is super cool. Really helpful to for aspiring producers to be able to see and experiment with the individual sounds of a song as big as this. It’d be cooler if it were tracks in MIDI, but still.

Now collaborate on enabling LC3 so that this can be done wirelessly!!
Stupid Apple.

Every time I look back at Garageband I'm stunned at how robust a tool it is for anyone just starting out in recording, composing, mixing, or any other facet of producing music. Stuff like this is just icing on an already excellent cake, but seriously what a great little hands-on educational tidbit.

oh yey a song from a decade ago

i like the song and love foxes but c'mon wtf is this?

How do you access the song? Is it supposed to be in your library already? I can’t find it anywhere.

I love that song! One of the first songs I discovered when Apple Music first came out. Has it really been that long already?

I would love to play with this, but afaict live loops in GarageBand don't play nice with VoiceOver. It's really hard to know what sections are being triggered. The frustrating thing is that there are no tutorials on using Apple's creative apps with VoiceOver, especially if you're a newbe to something like audio production like I am. I went to a today at Apple session to try and learn a bit more about GB but since the creative teaching it had never used VoiceOver, he was also trying to learn on the fly. It wasn't a total loss, just not as helpful as I'd hoped.

Anyone out there still using Apple Garage Band to make music?
I use GarageBand iOS as a scratchpad whenever a song idea pops into my head and I'm not near a computer. I do most of my actual music production in Logic though. Although one time I sequenced and arranged an entire track when I was bored/restless while waiting in the hospital, and it was really nice to be able to just transfer the session over to Logic later.

I’d love to see them do the same thing with older music from my era. There certainly has to be original master recordings that can be broken down into tracks. How about some rock ‘n’ roll from the 70s and 80s?

This is one of my favorite tracks in my cycling playlist. Can’t wait to check this out. I’ve played around with GarageBand but I just don’t know what I’m doing.

It’s 7:05 and past my bedtime for work tomorrow but I’m gonna play around with this when I get home.
