Crazy. Fornite didn't make the list. :p

I appreciate the hard work all these devs do and congrats to them all for being recognized. It’s not easy in a sea of apps to be selected.

Only app I’ve used out of all these is Strava on the watch, and it sucks. I like Strava and have used it for years, but not watch app.

That said, congrats to all the developers!

Wait, the App Store has actual apps?

Every time I opened the App Store this year it kept pushing Royal Match in my face and nothing else. They really need to solve the discovery problem of rotating the same garbage day in and day out as the first thing you see.

There is nothing to “feature” about a crappy “matching” game that keeps shoving in-app-purchases in your damn face.

Edit, December 5th, one day after this initial comment: If you scroll down below the App Of The Year stuff, unsurprisingly, today's Featured is... Royal Match!

Tiimo. Why do we want an app to put 'call mom' on a to do list?

And why doesn't the GUI timer match the duration of said to do?

I think it’s very rare that people discover apps through the App Store nowadays. Because of what you just said! The suggestions clearly shifted from valuable apps to profitable (scammy) apps.

People discover apps through social media now!

Tiimo looks exactly like an app that a good Apple Intelligence integration should be doing....

Exactly. If I see someone barfing Snapchat rainbows one more time I might actually barf non rainbows myself.

Tiimo is a planning app for people with ADHD. A common symptom is forgetfulness, especially with texting/calls and even with loved ones.

Not sure on the GUI but the “+5” indicates the user has added another five minutes to their task so that might have something to do with it.

Nice to see Explore POV on there. To me that is the most “the” app I have seen on any platform in a long time. If my quadriplegic father were still alive, I would have bought AVP for this one app alone.

Yet another year where I didn't win a damn thing. Next year I'm going to try creating an app and see if that works.
