Trying hard to diss Apple? It's just a nice exclusive AirTag design for Japan's New Year's Eve Promotion, that's all. Relax.

It’s very common here to have some sort of special product for the new year. Apple used to do lucky bags but I think they have stopped. I believe Apple do similar things for Chinese new year (Japanese new year is celebrated in a very similar way, just aligned with the western calendar).

Nice. I wanted a rabbit for the rabbit year. Rather have a normal version than this. Own many but no special design

Good way to unload soon-to-be-outdated AirTags.
Hold on a second: when people find out they can't disable the speakers in the new AirTags, the "outdated" ones will be selling at a premium on eBay. I have 4 spare ones, and I'll sell them to you right now for $100/each!

No cool AirTag for people buying the latest iPhone? I guess that's one way to get rid of old inventory... 🥲

The new special edition AirTags are nice. Would have been good if it were offered while purchasing any Apple product and not just the iPhone 15/14 or the SE.

Year of the Snake is Chinese thing, NOT Japanese.
If you don't know something, LEARN!

Just to be clear no one said it. Everyone knows it’s Chinese. The world looks at the Chinese calendar as an event. In Japan we acknowledge the Chinese. But we don’t claim it as our own. This is something celebration during the beginning of the year
