Apple today announced that it will be releasing limited-edition Powerbeats Pro in celebration of the NBA's 75th anniversary.

Designed in collaboration with Canadian gift shop Better, the special Powerbeats Pro feature Better and NBA logos with blue and red ear tips to match. The wireless headphones will be available February 19 for $249.99 in the United States.

Powerbeats Pro launched in 2019 as the first totally wireless Beats earphones. Key features include ear hooks for a secure fit, the same H1 chip as AirPods for "Hey Siri" support, up to nine hours of listening time per charge, IPX4-rated sweat and water resistance, and a charging case that works with a Lightning to USB-A cable.

Note that Apple is currently offering the Powerbeats Pro in existing black, navy, or ivory colors for $179.95. It may also be worth considering the newer Beats Studio Buds or Beats Fit Pro if you are shopping for wireless headphones.

Shouldn't these have some random Chinese characters printed on them to fit the NBA aesthetic? There's nothing better than shouting to the world that you're an "electric chef" or the "outhouse god"!

Edited to add (due to a request from moderators): This post is not PRSI commentary. I am referring to how many NBA players display tattoos with Chinese characters that have strange or unintended meanings that are not apparent to non-Chinese speakers.

I tried a cheap but accurate imitation and I found the giant ear hooks to be painful.
I used a cheap imitation for 2 years. They were fine I guess, but not great... were not super secure in the ear, required frequent fitzing and messing. But fine for $30. When they finally died, I said screw it and got powerbeats pros.... holy crap, night and day. They straight up do not move when I'm running. I forget that I'm wearing them. And they are every bit as convenient as my Air Pods, apart from the hook. In short, I've been a fool for too long.

Wow, those are ugly

Am I seeing this correctly that they aren't even at least white, but some kind of off-white, like PC hardware from the 90ies?!

Maybe they will end up missing Ive more than I would have imagined.

This product shouldn't have made it off the design lab iMac screen

Terrible -- on all fronts.
