Four more games were added to Apple Arcade today, including a new Angry Birds title.

Angry-Birds-Bounce.jpg

Angry Birds Bounce is a new take on the iconic Angry Birds game, which has received more than a billion downloads over the years. The new edition combines classic Angry Birds slingshot gameplay with arcade-style brick-breaker mechanics.

Here is how Apple describes Angry Birds Bounce:
Join Red, Chuck, Bomb, and the rest of the gang on a brand-new adventure. Angry Birds Bounce combines the classic charm of Angry Birds with an innovative arcade brick-breaker twist. When the pigs take over their islands, the birds must bounce back — literally — combining into powerful flocks and launching themselves to defeat an army of piggies and reclaim their home. With strategic rogue-lite gameplay, each level is a new challenge where players will master precision shots, unlock exciting power-ups, and build unique combos during each run.
The other three games added to Apple Arcade today:More details about those games were outlined in Apple's announcement last month.

Apple Arcade is a subscription service that provides access to hundreds of games across the iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision Pro. All of the games are free of ads and in-app purchases. In the U.S., Apple Arcade costs $6.99 per month, and it is bundled with other Apple services in all Apple One plans.

Apple Arcade can be accessed through the App Store and the new Apple Games app.

Netflix games are definitely much better. I'm playing hades right now and the implementation is very good. Very sad that it will leave soon. Other games like civ 6, 12 minutes, into the breach, etc. are also very good games.

I tried Apple Arcade only for monkey island but it isn't worth it to pay monthly fee for this game set. It really requires some popular games.

No disrespect to the people who work on this service, but the services division as a whole seems like the place in apple where all of the profits from apple’s hardware nickel and dining diming are splurged up the wall.

This just makes me want to run out and subscribe to Apple arcade /S :).

I don't think that adding these games will make a difference. If you like what Apple arcade has, you probably already have a subscription.

Last night I wanted to play the original angry birds for the first time in years. Downloaded it from my past purchases only to find out the angry birds I purchased in 2010 was now converted to a free game with in app purchases required to keep playing (energy). Immediately uninstalled it. Turns out they are selling the original, full game I already bought again under a different name. What a shady company.

The difference is astounding, since you don't have to pay anything extra for Netflix games, they don't have any IAP ********, nor ads. I am talking about AA or AAA games, including classics such as GTA, Civilization or the excellent Squid Game Unleashed.

No comparison at all, even if Apple is way richer than Netflix. Tim Spindler and the whole Services division have to be ousted into the dustbin of computer industry.

At this point it’s just depressing to read any news about that failed service. Even Netflix games are infinitely better.

Just curious, how does one access to those Netflix games? Subscribing to Netflix? Standard or Premium? Do they work on consoles or only in smartphones and tablets?

Angry birds one is pretty fun for a casual “toilet” game. Not something that will suck you in with deep gameplay but something entertaining for sure.

As a lifelong Apple user, I've recently decided to invest in the Xbox and Nintendo ecosystems (after growing up on PlayStation) and there's simply no comparison. I love my Apple TV, but gaming on it is an afterthought.

There's no way to put this kindly: Apple, you suck [at gaming, but at a lot of other things, too].

Can somebody high up in Apple just take Apple Arcade out to pasture, please? Show it some mercy because Tim Apple won't do it.

I used to think this too and realised they keep it around not because it adds any value on its own; but it helps them justify their apple one price.

See, no one's paying the $6.99 for apple arcade, but lots of people pay $19.99 for apple one.
How much is apple one really worth? Well really people are subscribing to it to get apple music and icloud, and collectively that's $12, then there's tv+ they maybe sometimes watch, news they almost never read and arcade they never play; but if it's only 8 more dollars to get those next 3 then why not.

If they stopped offering arcade, they'd have to lower the price of the apple one sub; even if it's only by a dollar or 2 that's a dollar or 2 they're currently getting for offering a service that barely anyone uses or cares about.

They should invest in more, better games for the service, like they did with Fantasian and a few more. But it seems they are quite lost

Yes, by subscribing - I play them on my iPad - not sure if consoles can also do it.

if Apple was smart they would make a big move into gaming, like a big acquisition or a big partnership (e.g. with Valve for example). But Tim Cook is too risk averse. But it costs more to be risk averse.

Valve is privately owned and Gabe hates Apple. Not a chance.

Every month on Apple Arcade:
  • Cartoony Toddler RPG
  • Generic Card Game #2,938
  • Puzzle Time Waster Plus
  • App Store Hit from 5 Years Ago+
It's like they landed on the lowest common dominator in terms of both age and quality.

Exactly, why not cycle a AAA game every month? Most of the others are kind of trash
