Yup, we're actually getting an honest to god, genuine Apple sale at the online store. No details but the sale day is the 28th of December.

They have also added a number of pre-built iBook configurations in both sizes, basically upgraded RAM, and called them "Prebuilt Systems." They tout them as having faster delivery and I reckon it's like sending up a firework show to say "hey look, Intel iBooks in January." I can't remember when they last did a promotion like this.

Here's the link.

Yep, something is definetly afoot.

I am hopeful that it will be to clear ipod accessories and soon to be superceeded stock. I really hope to see 3rd party BT mice on sale so I know I can expect a BT Mighty Mouse :)

Isn't this the equation we're all used to working with down under?

Apple Australia + our optimism = disappointment :(.

Although I hope to be proved wrong!

No!!!!!
I will be offline mostly from 24 Dec 05 - 2 Jan 06!

Mmm maybe I will take my PB and my mobile to the coast / beach with me and have a look that way! I'd hate to miss out on something big!

Good to see Apple doing something for us Aussies...
I'm skeptical as to what will be there... maybe just a clearance sale (aka firesale) prior to new product releases / announcements in Jan?

Yeah, I'm only expecting a firesale with the focus on iBooks. Could be a good hint as toy what's coming out in January though. :)

They had the "feast after the Feast" sale for USA after ThanksGiving. My bet your sale with be a lot like ours was.

iBooks and iMacs were 100USA off
Some other iPod stuff was liek 20USA off
iSight was 20 or 30USA off
Mighty Mouse was 20USA off

Really it was not that great of a sale unless your were in the market for a iMac becuz the other stuff was not a great deal(but it was worth checking out) and the iBook is likly going intel so i would wait for an intel iBook to buy.

Good Luck

The thing is this is unprecedented in recent memory by Apple Aus. So we have our hopes.

Hmm... Just the anticipated firesale. My education discount still gets me a much better deal. Oh well, hopefully it's the start of more firesales. Apple Australia really should be ashamed at how lacklustre their marketing department is. :(
