I'm looking to replace my decade old MacBook Pro this year, and am looking to possibly buy an Air from Amazon.

I've been getting conflicting information about the warranty. Specifically, if I buy the computer brand new directly from Amazon (and not a third party, not refurbished etc), do I get the same one year warranty and 60 day tech support just like I would if I bought it directly from Apple? Some Apple phone guy was trying to tell me the clock starts running on those when Amazon gets them in, but that makes no sense. I assume all warranties and free support start from the day the consumer buys it, just like anywhere else.

Also, what other authorized Apple resellers have you used and do or do not recommend, and do any of them offer a discount better than the $50 off Amazon is currently running for the Air with 8GB RAM and 512GB memory? Thanks.
