Apple Billboard

I use VMWare's Fusion to run Windows on my Mac. When a device is connected to the Mac, Fusion asks if the device should be connected to the Mac or Windows. When I connect my Magic Keyboard using the built-in USB-C, Fusion identifies it as an 'Apple Billboard'.

Curious to know if this is a misidentification or perhaps Apple's internal name for the Magic Keyboard?
