Hello, I was wondering if someone could help me with the problem that I’m currently having with my Apple Books app. You see I have approximately 5500 e-books on the Apple Books app which I have all downloaded to my iPad but ever since I upgraded to iPadOS 17.5 when I tried to download new books that I’ve purchased on the app. It offloaded some of my other books even though it says I have approximately 120 GB of remaining storage on my iPad. i’ve tried removing all of my books and re-downloading them, but the problem still occurs, and I’ve also deleted the app all together and re-downloaded it, which also doesn’t seem to be fixing the problem at this point I would like to avoid doing a factory reset but it looks like I’ve exhausted all other means of addressing the problem and I was wondering if somebody had any helpful suggestions for me. it should also be noted that I have a couple of other iPads and this problem does not occur on the other iPads just on my iPad mini. Anyway, any help that anybody could provide me on this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.

Maybe you have a corrupted database on that one device only. Maybe deleting the app and reinstalling it might help.

Have you tried calling AppleCare? Even if you don’t have a device that’s under warranty, Apple Books and the eBooks sold for use with Apple Books should be Apple’s responsibility. It’s my experience that AppleCare reps are really very helpful.

Also, try looking for an answer and, if none is found, try posting your question at discussions.apple.com. It can’t hurt to have multiple eyes/ears out there helping to find a solution.

If you do come up with a solution (even if it turns out that the only way to get it to work is to take the nuclear option and resetting the iPad mini), please post it here. I’d love to tuck it away in my solutions bank. Thanks.
