Apple brand USB-C digital AV multiport adapter vs third party hub

I mainly want one of these USB-C adapters to be able to run HDMI out to play movies and shows from my new iPad Pro 11” while simultaneously charging it when I’m away from home and my Apple TV. Is the expensive Apple brand one (around $60) really necessary or could I just use a cheaper third party one such as the Hootoo Shuttle?

You can use the Hootoo or anything else, it'll work just fine
