Apple BT Keyboard won't connect after my MBP battery died? 10.9

I'm running Mavericks and I've never seen this before. I plugged in the laptop and when it restarted and the keyboard wouldn't connect. I obviously clicked "connect" and pressing buttons on the keyboard and no chance.

I deleted it in the Bluetooth prefs and tried re-adding it but it wouldn't connect again.

Any ideas?
