Hi everyone,
My new Apple BT mouse seems to have issues sometimes when waking from sleep. I click the mouse and nothing happens. Turn it over...nothing lights up. So, I try opening the battery cover and then putting it back on...the mouse lights up. Then I try clicking and moving the mouse, but my iMac doesn't respond.
This has happened three times in 10 days. Once, after waiting several minutes (trying to figure out what to do), the mouse and computer re-paired automatically. This last time, I just so happened to find the right keyboard commands that allowed me to access the finder, open BT assistant and re-pair the mouse and computer.
The first time it happened, I had only had the computer for 3 days. So I call Apple thinking the batteries were dead after 3 days of use (I wasn't pleased). While talking to the tech, I realized the mouse and computer may have stopped communicating. Sure enough, that was the case. My BT preferences panel shows that the mouse still has a full charge.
My mouse and iMac (built in BT) are less than 2 feet apart. My keyboard has no such issues. The keyboard and mouse remain on while the computer sleeps. I have recently updated to 10.3.8, but the first time it happened was with 10.3.7 installed.
Does anyone else have this issue? Is this normal? Is there a keyboard shortcut that will give me direct access to the applications folder (to speed up the re-pairing process)?
Thanks to all for your advice.
