Hello,

I just wanted to let you know that there is an online
petition asking Apple Canada to adjust its prices to
reflect the canadian dollar value. It is an important
issue for canadians right now since our dollar as shot
through the roof in the last year and many OEMs have
not adjusted their prices.

If you think it is worth it, feel free to go sign the
petition and let your friends know about it.

Warning: The petition is hosted by the iPetitions.com
website which might ask signers for a donation. You
can refuse by clicking the back button of your
browser and your signature will still be valid (the
same warning is written on the petition page).

And if that doesn't work, vote with your dollars, and purchase from an American dealer. It's time to hold Apple Canada to account for its pricing policies.

I've noticed that Apple Software is more on par, but the hardware is certainly 'over-priced' for the current CDN$/US$ exchange rate.

Amazon.ca on the other hand is pre-ordering Leopard for $119, whilst it's $109 @ Amazon.com. Of course you can't order @ Amazon.com, from Canada.

That's a really key issue for Canadians right now, strong dollar, means more US Shopping... wonder how that'll effect the Canadian economy.

Shop local, shop national, THEN shop abroad.

Just remember that even if Apple doesn't change their prices, other retailers might. Be sure to shop around. I bought my copy of Leopard last week in the States for $129 USD, and I thought I was being clever... until I got home and realized that Staples has it on sale for $109.
