Apple Canceled My Imac Order!!

I have been checking my iMac 800Mhz Order Status every single day since I placed the order.

This morning Apple has CANCELED my iMac order and replaced it with another iMac order of the same configuration, but different model number.

Does anyone have any idea what is happening???

Could this mean that my order, that was placed on 1/7/2002 has been re-ordered on 01/22/2002, in which case they could claim a loophole type thing where they won't ship it to me for another 3-5 weeks???

A thought just occurred to me, is it possible that they are just about to begin shipping and have created a "real" item number??

I ordered mine on 1-10-2002, as of a few minutes ago, it hasn't changed. Hmmmmmm.
Today IS the twenty second, maybe you are right and shipping is commencing - I hope I hope I hope.

They put shipping charges on yours?

I don't have shipping charges. However, I ordered a bunch of other things with mine.

Does Apple have free shipping on orders where there are more than 1 item? I know stores like Amazon and Barnes & Noble do things like that.

Also, as a side note, we apparently ordered the exact same thing.

Not to worry...

I had to call Apple today to verify my shipping info... according to James at Apple, the reason they had to cancel the first order was because they are assembling some of the computers at another factory (which should shave a few days off of the shipping date...) Also he told me that my order should get to me in 1-2 weeks (I ordered mine on 1/13, for reference)...
