Apple Card activation?

I am waiting on my physical Apple Card to arrive. I applied for it via my iPad Pro (since I have no iPhone yet). When the card arrives:

1) Can I activate it using my iPad? (all the videos I have seen only show an iPhone for activation)
2) If I buy a new iPhone next month (and I "am" able to activate on the iPad in the meantime) will I be able to use it with Apple Pay on both my iPad and iPhone? (or does it only work with a single device?)

You will need to manually activate on older devices. There’s no NFC chip in iPad. See link below for manual activation.
