Apple Card holders today received an email informing them that should they need financial assistance due to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, they can enroll in a new customer assistance program that will allow them to skip their March payment without incurring interest charges for that billing cycle.

To initiate the process, send the following message to Apple Card support via iMessage: "I would like to enroll in the Customer Assistance Program."

The email was shared by Reddit user exjr_:

This is one of many measures that Apple is taking in response to the pandemic, along with announcing that WWDC 2020 will be an online event, temporarily closing all Apple Stores outside of China, committing $15 million to date for COVID-19 relief efforts, encouraging corporate employees to work remotely if their job allows, and more.

I see the unprofessional reporting skills continue across ALL media. You do realise it’s actually called ‘Covid 19’ right? To call it the Coronavirus is the same as to call it the ‘Human Being’... the word cornovirus means a group of a certain type of virus that includes the flue, SARS, Mers, the common cold etc.. so in effect your calling the current pandemic a group of several viruses:

Who cares about that right now?

As long as people understand what it's about, everything is fine.

To call reporters “unprofessional” because of their use of a generally accepted term is a little overblown. As pointed out above, folks understand the meaning without much thought.

Not like they call the “flu” a duct of some sort, you know.

Or is this because you work for Cervecería Modelo?

Yeah, I specify COVID-19 in the story. I would like to think that everyone knows which coronavirus we are referring to right now.

Actually, not sure cornovirus is a word.

You’re giving the general population too much credit here. Think of the MSM’s general audience.

The going joke I’ve been spreading is that a person’s IQ is their actual IQ, minus the number of individual rolls of toilet paper they have purchased in panic. This is the media’s audience.

Also, who still uses toilet paper? I didn’t realise how many people are not evolved enough to use bidets. People know they’re just rubbing fecal matter around, right? Nasty.

Bidets are only used on mass in certain countries, not all countries consider them necessary or use them, hence toilet paper is used still and seems to function perfectly well.

I believe if the World Health Organisation doesn’t define one single virus as a cornavirus then neither should the media, particularly those who are paid news reporters for mainstream media outlets, not Mac Rumors but your newspapers or news channels.
That’s my belief.
I don’t believe that should explain the title of the story you’ve used though, you do imply this virus is ‘the’ coronavirus in it: Due To Corinavirus.

And you do realize COVID-19 just stands for coronavirus disease 2019 right?

Unless absolutely needed, I would not use this. I’m sure you’ll end up on a Goldman Sachs dirty list somewhere and will never be considered for a credit line increase even if your credit score and income increase.
My thoughts exactly. I’d assume the existence of, “High/Extremely High Risk,” buckets. Especially if you can’t make a minimum payment. These flags do exist, like blacklists for people who’ve charged-off cards.

COVID-19 is the disease; SARS-CoV-2 is the virus. However, I think it’s pretty abundantly clear what’s being referred to when a report in March 2020 refers to “the coronavirus.”

The disease caused by the virus is called COVID-19. The virus itself is called SARS-CoV-2.

Apple is showing great support amid this crisis. My deepest respect for that move!
Yes, agreed.
Luckily during this crisis, I am off work but my paycheck does not get interrupted by the state dept of education - so still paying on the Apple Card every month....
