Apple has again extended its Apple Card COVID-19 Customer Assistance Program by a month, which will allow cardholders who apply for aid to defer their August payments without incurring interest charges.

Enrolling in the program can be done by opening up the Wallet app on the iPhone or iPad, tapping on Apple Card, tapping on the black circle with three dots, tapping on the message bubble, and then sending a message that states "I want to enroll in the Customer Assistance Program."

Confirmation of enrollment is sent to the email address associated with an Apple ID. Apple Card purchases will need to be paid off in the future, but the balance does not accrue interest when participating in the program.

Apple has been offering the Apple Card COVID-19 Customer Assistance Program since March, and has extended it each month as the coronavirus continues to impact Apple Card customers.

Apple sends emails about the Customer Assistance Program when sending monthly statement balances. A support document with more details has been updated with the August extension.

Please Bring Apple Card to other parts of the world. ( I know we dont get the same % cash back, but that is not the point )

Buying overpriced branded consumer products on credit is not a formula for improving your society. Quite the opposite.
For many of us, buying an iPhone, iPad, or Mac etc. is not about improving society as it is about improving our personal and professional life in many different ways. Not everything has to be about society all the time.

Now that you're enrolled in Apple Card's Customer Assistance Program, you'll receive the following benefits:
  • You won't be charged interest on the statement that will be generated on August 31, 2020.
  • You can skip your payment due on August 31, 2020.
  • Your next payment is due on September 30, 2020.
  • Your account will be reported to the credit bureau(s) as current.
  • If your account is past due, it will remain past due until all past due payments are made. Your purchases may continue to be restricted.

I enrolled again, but I had to pay down some of what I owned to avoid the interest charges. I promise, I will pay it off in September.
It’ll be extended till October don’t worry lol

I completely replaced all my cash spending, bills, with this card. Pay it off each month (not that big a deal since it's cash I would have spent anyways). Which means I get a nice monthly [daily] cash back that I use to pay for cloud services. It's awesome. Love the app!

Gotta love when people tell you how to live your life and spend your money. Common theme on these forums it seems.

That being said, don’t get yourself into a debt trap. Have a plan before you purchase and if credit is the way you want to do it, so be it. Just have a plan to pay for what you buy.

Has anyone determined if doing this affects credit score?

From the Apple support document:

What happens when you enroll
You can skip your Apple Card payment that's due for the month of July without incurring any new interest charges. This stops interest from accruing on that month's statement.

Your account will be reported to credit bureaus as current. <--- Right here!

Not just missing the point by a mile, but then followed by an off-topic overreaction as well.

First of all, credit exists in most countries in the world already. This isn't about getting access to credit at all, this is about how you interact with it. Just like a number of other disruptors in the market for consumer banking and how you can interact with the service like Revolut, or Curve or even on a local level what Tinkoff managed to do in Russia. Anyway, Apple Pay already made a huge difference for many of us by putting our own bank cards in the system. A difference to everyday transactions, and even how we interact with public transport. The integration and management of an Apple Card provide some additional convenience of other cards for which most have terrible apps. But possible through the Open Banking initiative that could be provided through other means.

But yet, you choose to interpret this very differently. Shame.

Apple Card sucks I have 798 credit score and never had any problems with my credit or any of my credit cards ,and they deny my application .

I just had another issue. I don’t need to enroll in the program however my payment was due 31st July. My iphone was broken and at Apple for repairs which i won’t receive back till tomorrow. After countless support requests to confirm all would be okay to pay when i receive my phone and this wouldn’t be reported to my credit for being a few days late, i am told that you can go to cards.apple.com and pay online which i did, i had no idea. My concern is though that they did say they didn’t know if it would be reported which is concerning for being 2 days late.

Why not? Give another month so you can collect some of that sweet guberment money that is coming.

This post did even bother with logic or cohesion. Why talk just to talk.

Social life has nothing to do with society? Business has nothing to do with society? Use of credit has no social impact?

I’m just going to let this one hang itself....

We are barely a decade past the biggest financial meltdown in history. It happened because financing and financial engineering was allowed to go far too deep into society.

This is heading back to same, if the world’s biggest brand now requires financial juicing to keep sales growth going.
