Apple today started sending out emails to Apple Card users, letting them know about a new Booking.com promotion. From now through May 15, Apple Card users can get five percent total Daily Cash back when using Apple Card with Apple Pay.

Booking.com is a site that allows users to reserve flights, hotel stays, car rentals, cruises, and more.

Apple Card owners can get up to $500 Daily Cash back on eligible hotel stays and car rentals using the Apple Card Booking.com link.

Booking.com is also providing two percent in Booking.com Travel Credits on eligible stays and car rentals that are booked through the Apple Card, which is on top of the 5 percent Daily Cash back.

Right now, Apple is also offering an Apple Card promotion for referrals, offering anyone who is referred to Apple Card a $75 Daily Cash bonus. The invitee will need to open a new Apple Card and make a purchase within 30 days of opening the account.

but is 7% cashback really worth the hassle you might have at the property/car-rental lot when you get there?

it's a crapshoot to book through these sites instead of directly with the hotel/car-rental.

BEST: 1. call the hotel and quote them the rate you found and see if they'll match it; you'll get a sense of what to expect for "customer service"
2. check the hotel's reviews before you book.

YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR

hotels put booking-site reservations last, behind their regular customers.

means you get the room next to the central air conditioning, or on the floor just above where all the dead fish are piling up at the water's edge below, or with the janky door that doesn't quite close all the way.

You also won't get points/credit if you're a member of the hotel chain's rewards program. That said, booking.com also has apartments, BnBs, etc...so the Apple Card deal might be of interest if someone planned to go that route.

I like the Wells Fargo Active Cash. It’s 2% for EVERYTHING. You don’t have to bother with what or where.

Chasing points suck.

FWIW, booking.com has been fine for me in the past. I was picking a basic place, however, not planning an extravagant honeymoon type of vacation.

Of course this happens during a week-long vacation for me, mere days after my bookings were all finalized. 🥲

I want to book just a car rental, and the link that they have that you have to use only has a section for hotels. Once again, people can never implement anything correctly. The Apple Card cash back site for booking.com says hotel stays or car rentals.
