If I buy a Macbook Air from Macmall can I buy Apple care from Apple and get the student discount (on the apple care)?

Buy AppleCare from Apple? Just walk into an Apple Store with your educational ID, or buy from Apple's online education web site.

When you purchase AppleCare separately from the Mac, you usually just get a cardboard box with a registration code and some instructions.

I went to the education site but to get to the apple care purchase screen you have to leave the education site and go to the normal one (services tab).
