Hey everybody! I am so excited I got the 3GS today to replace my water damaged iPhone 3G (I got pushed into a pool). Anyways, now I am wondering should I get Apple Care its like $70. Worth it?

Let me know your thoughts & experiences.
Thanks!

Whether you want to hold on to your 3GS for two years or if you want to sell it in a year from now, either way it will benefit you. The resale value goes up if you JB/UL/AC your old iPhones. Win-Win situation in my opinion....

If you plan on picking it up and holding it by the dock connector, then yes, I would get AppleCare.

Last month, I bought a 2G iPhone from someone on Craigslist. The one I bought had six months Apple Care left on it and that plus the condition of the phone made me buy it over the others.

Get it when you're 11 months in; you know just in case you get pushed into a pool again.

If you are planning to keep the phone for two years then get the plane. Ifyour battery or any of the hardware dies you can get it replaced for free. So it's really worth it. Also it increases resale value.:):)

I remember asking the rep what was covered by Apple Care.

If I drop it? - Nope.
If it gets wet? - Nope.

What does it cover?

If it just stops working.

Umm, no thanks.

wise guy:D i have to admit that was good

anyone else out there have to use apple care protection ?

I would get it if your phone is very important to your job or school or whatever, and you can't risk losing it. And if you tend to not be the most careful person with your phone, it might be a good idea. BUT... you can always get a nice case for it, like a switch easy case, an incase slider, or one of those otter cases. Any will do, your choice

Remember that Applecare does not cover water damage, dropped phone, theft, or losses. It only covers manufacturer defects.

Thanks for all the info guys! Yeah I have plenty cases :) I am a reviewer on youtube. SO I have plenty accessories.

I might wait with apple care.
BTW how can I check how long of the 1 year warranty I have left (for my MB).

Max

In other words, if the problem is your fault - No. If the problem is Apple's fault - Yes

Nothing wrong with that :)

Sure thing.
I have had my 3G since launch, never came close to dropping it.
I still would like the option of insurance just in case.

And AppleCare for the iPhone is a sucker's bet.
How many iPhones stopped working on there own after a year?
The educated electronic shopper's rule, if it doesn't break on its own in 90 days, it probably won't in another year.

But go ahead and line Apple's pocket, they need help keeping the lights on. ;)
