Apple Care on mid 2010 MBP

So, I recently picked up a MBP mid 2010 on what I thought / think was an amazing deal off of kijiji... Came with Original packaging and receipt this is my first macbook and I am wondering if the original buyers Apple care is finished can I put apple care back on ( Re-new )?

If this is the wrong section I do apologize...

AppleCare is only available within the first year of purchase.

Unfortunately you can't renew applecare one the original applecare has run out.
