Apple Care One for Studio Display

I purchased an Apple Studio Display three years ago with Apple Care Plus (the anniversary date is in a few weeks).
I have discovered that since you don't login to your Apple account with this display it is not listed anywhere where my other device are listed (phone, mac book, etc).
The issue is whether the display is eligible for Apple Care One (most Apple techs I have spoken to say yes). But no one knows how to register the display (probably the wrong term) so that I can get Apple Care One for this device.
Flummoxed.
Any help would be most welcome.

It should let you sign up through your Mac through Settings, General, Applecare just like when you first received it. Presumably the connection to your account is made through the Mac you have connected.

I was able to add my Apple Studio Display to Apple Care One but only because I had linked my Apple Studio Display AppleCare+ plan to my Apple ID and ... as okkibs said - I could ONLY add it from my Mac - my iPhone, my iPad didn't see the Apple Studio Display.

Settings --> General --> AppleCare & Warranty --> Hit the "Add Device" button - my friend was able to do this to his as well.

Make sure to hit the Add Device... button (don't rely on the More Devices list - it won't show there):

Yeah - I remember I had to "Finish AppleCare+ Setup" on my Apple Studio Display for it to show on my iCloud account (really kind of silly):

I could swear there was also a web page on Apple's site that would allow you to add a device based on the serial number. Does anyone else remember that?

If you’re already on the annual AppleCare+ agreement ($50) and have added your first 3 AppleCare One devices, it seems like you’d actually be spending $22 more a year to add this to AppleCare One ($5.99 monthly). Even the monthly AppleCare+ is cheaper, and I don’t see any advantage of moving an already covered Studio Display to AppleCare One.

Am I missing something?

That is true, you are correct. For AppleCare One it is $5.99 * 12 = $71.88 and it was $49.99 for the AppleCare+ annual for the Apple Studio Display.

I added it to my AppleCare One plan just because I wanted the refund on the $49.99 that I had just spent a month before - (which I got), and cuz I've had this display now for several years, might just cancel it.

$22 a year isn't a ton for me, but yeah, you are right, unless it's one of the 3 to make it worth it, it does not make sense.
