I ordered and due to receive tomorrow an i6+ for my wife, she is known to break phones easily.. :mad:, so my question is:

should i buy apple care+ for 100 bucks or do the sprint coverage which is 10/mo plus 200 copay?

with apple the copay is 80$ and they will do it twice during the coverage..

If she is 'just' prone to breaking phones then I would go with AppleCare+.

Carrier insurance is much more expensive and mainly for someone who is afraid of losing/getting their phone stolen.

she works out of the house and rarely goes out, but she drops her phones all the damn time, on average, her phones last about 8-10 months

thanks for advice, i think apple care+ is the better option.

I have both the Sprint coverage and Applecare+. I know, it's overkill but I prefer dealing with Apple for the warranty/accidental stuff and only deal with Sprint in case of theft.

I went with Applecare. I had Bestbuy on the last phone but now they have a very large deductible. Applecare is cheaper and pretty straight forward. Just don't lose your phone or get it stolen! Verizon is $240 for two years and somewhere around $170? to replace. I'll take my chances with applecare. $100 and $79 for a replacement phone I damaged. I also don't care if its reconditioned as I buy most of my computers that way from Apple.

Apple care+ or carrier warranty?

AppleCare + and add a rider to your homeowners for the theft or loss. The rider cost me about $20 a year.

You can have theft or loss of a iPhone added to your homeowners insurance ?

Because if that's the case, I'm calling Allstate first thing tomorrow morning.

interesting! thanks

AppleCare Plus= $99 for 2 years $79 per incident. Potentially costing $178

Sprint= $240 for 2 years $200 per incident potentially costing $450

Plus, if you paid by Credit Card, you may already be covered with purchase protection. Call them as well as others have mentioned, your Homeowners policy. Just verify your Homeowner deductible wouldn't apply, and that your Homeowners wouldn't increase if you put in a claim. That could cost a lot.

Get her a very good case that covers the whole thing up......

Unfortunately my insurance company (USAA) will not cover an iPhone. Too many false claims I bet. :(
