Has anyone used the Apple Care+? How does apple check the phone?
Just curious what's stopping someone from buying a smashed iphone (that won't turn on) on ebay and using their own apple care+ for this broken phone.
I don't ever recall seeing a serial number inside any iphone I've opened.

The SIM tray has a serial on it, plus I imagine they have other ways to pull the serial (since the tray can be swapped). When I turned in my 4S to get a refurb one, they only checked the SIM tray - didn't turn it on.
