Is it worth the obscene amount of money it costs when it should be included?

It got my AppleCare for my MacBook for US$159 off of eBay. The Apple Genius today confirmed that their records showed my coverage until 2010 as well.

Help with what? Understanding why it costs what it does? Why it's not "included"? Buying it for you?

Also, knowing if you're in the US or not may change things as well.

Lastly, try MRoogle (listed in the sig lines of many members, including Eidorian & myself) for "Apple Care" and find thousands of posts in recent months discussing many reasons, both pro and con, regarding the APP.
