Okay so I have read many posts on here where people have a problem with their mac and are told to take it in for repair at an apple store. In most of these posts someone will mention expensive repairs. So I have a question about Apple care, does it basically cover anything that is not accidental or intentional damage? And will I have to pay a portion of a repair in case I need to have something repaired or do I just pay the cost of apple care up front and no further fees?

While I have never had to use Apple Care, I understand it as coverage against defects and such. I would assume that if for example your trackpad stopped working 2 and a half years after you bought your machine, that would be a free replacement with Apple Care but without Apple Care, they would charge a fee to replace it.

Others may be able to better answer your question. I tried though!

It covers anything defective does not cover damage like you mentioned. There is no fee or deductible per repair.
