Apple Care usable in other countries?

Hi everyone, I'm considering pruchasing my first Macbook.
And I will buy also a Apple Care protection plan. Now I'm in France, if i buy a macbook and a apple care here , can my macbook be freely repaired also in US? The protection plan is utterly the same?

But the people you talk to in France will probably speak English. (...and German, and Italian...)
