Just wondering how a new 2020 MacBook Pro would get Apple Care if the local store is closed indefinitely? Is there some other place to take the MBP to for service?

Some 3rd party Apple authorized places Will take them in. If you must have Apple do it, either drive 90 minutes to find one open like I did or mail it in

Ive always found mailing in to be easier, often repairs have to be done ofsite anyway so why introduce a middleman
I recently mailed in my iPhone for a battery replacement. It arrived at their repair factory about 15 hours ago yet no status change (fedex says it’s delivered while Apple doesn’t show an update on their end). Any idea how long the repair will take and why they haven’t provided me with a confirmation that they’ve received the package?

I sent my MBP in for repair last month. It was received by Apple on 6/27, and it was back in my hands on 7/6, roughly 10 days later. I received a text on the 28th that it had arrived at the repair center and a second text on 7/3, when it was shipped back to me. The whole time in between, my MBP’s status was “we are diagnosing your issue” on Apple’s repair status website.

Call Apple and open a case ASAP. This way the case is open and ready to move to the next step, whether you mail it in, or wait for your local store to reopen.
