I'm giving up and buying a new iMac 21.5 i5. Two questions--

1: The base model comes with 4G RAM. Is it better to buy the base model and add 4GB RAM myself? Is it easy to add more RAM?
2: I'm going to buy Apple Care for 3 years. Will Apple Care become void if I add RAM myself.

Thanks.

Since RAM is user replaceable and easy to do (ten minutes and less) it will not void the warranty.
Instructions can be found in the user guide (online or the booklet, if it is still included) or via a simple www search.
RAM is also cheaper via third party, you can go to 16 GB RAM for less than 100 USD or 32 GB RAM for less than 200 USD.
