I'm trying to find an aftermarket car double din radio with Apple CarPlay and able to still connect a iPod Classic as a audio source as well. I did a little bit of research trying to find this and purchased the new Sony XVA-AX5000 Digital multimedia receiver because it offers 2 USB port connection. My thoughts were that one USB port would be for the iPhone connection for CarPlay and the other USB port would be for a second audio source. But come to find out that it doesn't support any iPod for audio but the iPhone. I've started to look into it more and couldn't find not 1 that offers both. I have a 160gb iPod Classic and use it for listening to whole album instead of streaming them and save on my data usage.

Does anyone here know of any company offering Apple CarPlay and still be able to connect an iPod Classic as well for audio listening?

I don't think you're going to find something like that out there. Carplay units most likely don't support anything other than iOS for audio. The amount of people still using ipods that don't come with iOS (which are all discontinued) is likely way too small
