Apple Case Available in store on launch day?

We have 2 6 plus iphones on preorder that apple says will be delivered on 9/19 so I'm going with that assumption.

I leave for out of town the very next day so I want to get a case. I stupidly decided that yesterday and the midnight blue case that I would like to purchase says will not be delivered for 5-7 business days.

I have never been to the Apple Store day of launch. If I am not buying a phone or picking one up, can I waltz into the store at 8am and buy a case?

Is that possible?

Just received my Apple leather case for the 6. Seems thinner than the 5s case. Same Apple quality.

I'm hoping that the low availability is due to most of the case stock being sent into stores for launch day.

Am I right in thinking that there was a shortage online of the 5S leather case at launch but stores were well stocked?
