Hello everyone,

What Do you prefer? silicone or leather?

any advices welcome

Leather is more slippery, some say just as slippery ad the naked iPhone.

Silicone is grippy. It's also a strange feeling material. Some love it, some hate it. I'm on the fence about it. I am using the Smart Battery Case (silicone) and I'm really liking the feel of this thing.

I love the look of the leather cases but I use silicone. It's that grippiness that allows me to carry my iPhone in my shirt pocket and not have it slip out if I lean over. The silicone looks nice too - just not as luxe as those leather cases. I have the Product Red silicone on my 6s Plus and the matching band for my Apple Watch. I'm so metro. :)

I think you should go on the Leather case.
More premium and classy.

The silicone feels very slippery after month, and the metiral attract lint and dust- yes it's very easy to wipe it off but somehow I feel like the phone slowly slide from my hands.

I have 6 leather Apple cases between the wife and I, as you can tell I'm a fan of the leather.

That happened to me at work on Friday. I had a Spigen Ultra Hybrid on my 6s in my shirt pocket. I bent over to get a computer mouse from this rolling cart. My phone slipped out but I didn't hear it (class full of noisy elementary school kids). A few minutes later I was searching high and low for it. Turned out it was over by that cart and landed on an old broken printer The fall was fortunately cushined by some rolled up USB cables sitting on top of the printer. I'll be using my silicone Smart Battery Case as much as possible now as that pocket grip is a great benefit.

I have both. I found a good solution for the slippery leather. Rub it down throughly with a natural oil on the outside of course with the phone removed. I used coconut because it was all I had on hand. Wait about 24 hrs till it dries before putting your phone in it. Nice and grippy now. The silicone case is nice as well. If I had to pick, the leather case after oil applied would be my choice.

I find the new leather cases for the 6s to be more slippery than the 6s itself.
The 7000 series aluminum is much more matte than the previous gens.

I vote for the leather. It is slick when you first get it but as it breaks in it'll become more grippy. The big driver for me is that I tend to rub my phone on my pants to clean the screen. With the leather case there's no issue whereas the silicone one is too grippy against my pants.

I will be buying the sillcone one tomorrow. Going to get one for my ipad mini 4 so it's matching

I agree this is subjective, and have used both Apple's leather and silicone.

Although, while many say the leather is slippery, I find that after a day or so of use, it becomes less so. The one thing to keep in mind about the leather is that the oils from your hands (and potentially dye from clothing) could rub off on it causing a patina or darkening.

Personally, the silicone did not work out. I had it in white, and while it stayed fairly clean, it stuck to my pockets. Thus, when I took it out, it took my pocket with it (and if I had cash or something in the pocket, that inevitably came out too). I also found that after a few months, the silicone separated/peeled off and it now looks like a mess.

It's subjective. I've used both and like both.
The leather suffers from wear and tear much more than the silicone.

Personally, I like the leather. The silicone attracted too much dust/lint and, was more difficult to get out of my pocket due to the extra "stick" in the silicone rubber case {I found the silicone case to be very slippery and weird}.
I love the leather case feels more premium and classy

Apple silicone case slippery ????? Are you serious ? o_O

yeah. He's serious. I know exactly what he means. I like the Silicone material but it's weird feeling stuff.

It's not slippery like the naked phone is slippery. It's slippery as in it s-l-o-w-l-y slides out of your fingers if you hold it loosely. Try propping it up against something on a smooth table and watch it slowly slide down.

Classic TPU on the other hand, that stuff grabs your skin and won't move so long as there is a little moisture in your skin (if there isn't it's time to start hydrating yourself).

Yes, seriously. the silicon is so smooth and slick that its hard to hold. If you're one-handing your phone it will very slowly start to slide out of your hand.

I can't see anything slippery on Apple silicone cases ... actually it has even too much grip (especially when you take it out of your pockets)

I feel the opposite.

I have both and prefer the look and feel of the Leather over the silicone. I find silicone much more slippery then the leather.

It grips fabric like crazy (typical of all silicone). But it doesn't rest on your fingertips at an angle without sliding down.

Anyone use either of these cases with BSE skins on the phone? Looking to try it on the 6S plus.

Just got the silicone one to day love how it feels in the hand and makes the phone feel so thin
