I've always been a strong advocate of certification, especially through self study, and I've just recently begun looking into Apples line of certification.
Apple recommends a class in person. Since this is more of a personal pursuit and less professional (I work in IT, but I'm a network architect - a leap [in the wrong direction] to ask my employer to pay for a class on Apple Desktop support lol), I am using the Apple Training Series guide by Kevin White from Peachpit Press as a self-study resource.
Is that feasible for a savvy tech professional or are there gotchas on the test that are unfair? (HP ASE certification asked a question along the lines of: on page 34 of the authorized training guide, what caption is below image 3.4? Way to not test on theory and foundation knowledge
)
If you have the cert, how'd you get it? Self study? Instructor led? How many years experience do you have supporting Macintosh?
