I have recently set up express checkout on my iPad and Mac for tonight's iPhone release (here in the UK). In order to doth is I had to edit my billing information and change a couple of things on my debit card info (use a different card). I have since noticed that £1.48 as been taken out of my account, as Apple charged me just to edit my billing information and change my debit card?

It's an authorization to make sure your payment details are legit. It should fall off your account in the next few days. Many companies do this.

I am going to guess it's a temporary hold to make sure the card is valid/works. Just watch it.

Thanks guys, I didn't know they did that the card I had on there before was a credit card but I changed it to my direct debit one. That has put my mind at rest anyway, thank you
