I believe I've read here that Apple only charges your account once they are ready to ship it. Last night I saw Apple charge for the low end MBP (only upgrade is 160gb 5200, matte) I ordered July11th. I havent received a shipping notification and nothing on the acct status page has changed from "Not yet shipped." How long is this interval between billing and shipping, usually?

One of those two things is wrong: Apple's policy is not to charge until they ship. Give them a call and find out what is going on.

Anyone else have a similar experience? They closed shortly and was not able to call.

My card has been charged and my MBP isn't shipping till early August.

They sometimes earmark the money as a check. They then won't draw on the card/bank account until shipping.
