Hi guys

Need to bring my cinema display from the uk to russia? What's the best way of doing it?

Will it survive a trip in my luggage?

Depends on the mood of the baggage handlers but I would not attempt it without some serious packaging. Take it to some firm that will ship it for you under their care and your goods will be insured in case of breakage. Why not get a second screen there instead with the cost of shipping?

Thanks for all the replies

I am sort of moving to russia for a while. Checked prices here and the screen is twice the price.

Do not think I will get away with carry on

I guess will see how much it will cost to ship it

Have you purchased it yet? If not you could set your delivery address to your new one in russia from international store.

get it shipped. I wouldn't let luggage jockies anywhere near my goods.

If you ship it in the original box, that's pretty much "tops" as far as protection goes.

And make sure you get it insured, in case you end up shipping it. Preferably for the value that it's actually worth at your destination.

Big IPS displays are notoriously fragile and prone to develop all sorts of backlight uniformity issues from just the slightest of alignment changes. As everybody has been saying, another vote for shipping.
