I've been having problems connecting my 20" ACD (alu version) to my 2017 MacBook Pro running Catalina, using a Dell WD15 docking station. The ACD connects and works fine for maybe 5-10 seconds, then the screen goes black. I've tried using multiple Macs running Catalina and none of them work. My chain is USB-C into MBP from docking station > Mini DisplayPort to DVI adapter > Cinema Display. This chain works fine with my Windows laptop.
I contacted Apple Support, and they gave a detailed response about a compatibility problem with the Cinema Displays and Mojave/Catalina, meaning it's impossible to use ACDs running this software on modern Macs due to a "change in architecture".
Just wondering if this is true, or if there are people on here running Catalina successfully with an early 2000s alu. Cinema Display? Thanks.
