So I'm about to pick up a 20" off craigslist...

I remembered that there are firewire ports on the display. My question is, how does the interface work. Do you use it like a hub and plug into the computer, and then connect devices to the monitor, or is there another way that would make the firewire ports on the display work with the macbook.

Let me know,
thanks.

So the FW ports on teh back of the cinema display cannot be used for devices? That doesn't seem to make much sense...

Thanks for the answers guys. It was what I had assumed.

Does anyone know of any defects on the 20" model model a1081. Wanna make sure it doesn't have any lasting known issues.

It's a FireWire hub. It needs to plug into a FireWire port to get power. The MacBook has no FireWire port...

That's where my confusion was. I neglected to pay attention to the fact that the OP had a unibody MB. Silly me to forget that a feature had been dropped!
