Hey everyone,

I was given this Cinema Display and I'm not sure what model it is, but i know its on the older side.. Ive attached pictures of the cord i have with it. Am i missing a cord to make it work?
It has only one hard wired cable which split into three smaller cable ( USB , thunderbolt , power supply )
few Question
- what model is this monitor ?
- is it required power supply ?
- how to turn the monitor on ?
- how do U connect to Mac mini 2014 ?
Or should this just plug into my Mac mini ? I havent used a cinema display before so am unsure of how it works..
If you know something please say something . It's frustrating really .
Thank you!

Looking at the back of the display, I don’t think it’s an Apple Cinema Display. The back of the older cinema displays have an aluminum back, never seen one with a black plastic back.

Does it have an Apple logo at the bottom center of the display?

It also looks like it’s missing whatever power adapter it needs.

No. It doesn't have any apple logo on it .
But looks like exactly as cinema display.
How can I identify this monitor ? Please advise .

If it’s an official Apple monitor it would have the name and serial on the base of the monitor.

This is the user guide for the Apple display it looks like, however the back of yours is all plastic:

Sadly, it looks to be a copy. The best bet you have is asking whoever you got it from if they have the power supply and forgot to give it to you.

I can confirm that is not an Apple Cinema Display. As noted, all Apple Cinema Displays had an aluminum back with an Apple logo engraved both on the front center bottom in the bezel area and across the back center. The USB ports were also on the side, not the back, and they had a built-in power supply. And the stand is not an Apple stand.

Is there any name or label on the monitor front or back or under the stand? Any model number? Serial number?

What looks like a Thunderbolt 1/2 connector is probably a miniDisplayPort connector (both technologies used the same connector). You should be able to plug the mDP cable into a TB2 port on the Mac mini. Then plug the USB-A cable into one of the USB-A ports.

Power is going to be more difficult since this display used an external AC to DC power brick and that brick would have had the DC output voltage and amperage the monitor requires.

Found it!

It is a CinemaView CV24 from 2009.

The company appears to be out of business and a quick Google search for the power adapter is not returning hits. So you may be out of luck getting it to work.
