Apple Cinema Display questions

I'm thinking of getting a gaming PC with a blu ray drive and using it as my media center. I want to get the apple cinema 30 inch display, but I'm wondering if I can use it as a computer monitor and use it as a tv. How would I watch cable tv on it and also use it as a computer monitor for gaming and blu ray movies.
