Hey all,

Could you guys who have cinema displays please give me some advice. Thinking of getting one to go with my MacBook Air but don't know if they are worth the money.

If i don't get one of these I was thinking of getting the top spec iMac 21.5". I know the cinema display is a 27".

Also could you post pics if possible.

Thanks

The Cinema Display has 77.8% more pixels than a 1920x1080 display. Your decision point should NOT be about physical size, it should be about pixel count. The 27" has a lower dot pitch (more pixels in a given space) than the 21.5" because the increase in physical area does not counteract the increase in pixel density, so things will "seem a bit smaller". The 27" is 2560x1440 (~3.7MP) versus 1920x1080 (~2.1MP).

The speakers built in are quite solid. I'm satisfied with them for regular use. Extra USB2 ports aren't necessary, but are nice to have. The built in camera is 640x480. It's a great 640x480 camera, but does not compare to the "HD FaceTime" camera of the new MacBook Pro or iMacs.

I have a Mac Mini with a 27" Cinema Display attached, though once the 27" iMac shows up (long delay because of the SSD), I'll have dual-27s.
