I went to apples website and see where apple compare the iPhone 4 next to the iPhone 3gs in every catagory. They are comparing both phones running the new operating system. The new 3gs 8 gig iPhone running iso 4 claims to get the same battery life as the 16gig and 32gig 3gs running 3.1. So the new iso 4 doesn't drain the 3g battery anymore than 3.1? Hard to believe apple better get proper stats up.

I get the same battery life on my iPhone 3G running the GM candidate build of iOS 4.0 as I did running 3.1.2

It is, however, interminably slow and juddery on this thing. A far cry from the days of 2.2.1

I did a full restore and set up as new phone. iOS 4.0 seems to be a total resource pig on the iPhone 3G.
