They're literally promoting buying a new phone with the iPhone event directly below...

Yeah, it’s kinda wild. You scroll down a bit, and it’s like, Here’s the new iPhone, and right under it, Watch the event where we’ll announce it. 😂 They’re really pushing it hard this year.

How dare they promote a current and available product, those bastards

In all seriousness, if you need a phone now, then buy one now. If I broke my phone today, I'm not going to hold out until the 17 is in stores for purchase. At the end of the day, there's this thing called caveat emptor - buyer beware. It puts the onus on the consumer to make educated decisions

If you want something reliable without any issues to get work done, the iPhone 16 series is available today and will still last you 3 years.

The 17 is going to be an incremental improvement, people with jobs and lives don't care.

If my iPhone 13 mini wasn't damaged and the battery worn, I'd still be using it today.

"the publicising of a product, organisation, or venture so as to increase sales or public awareness" - that sounds like exactly what's going on here.
Okay, so I guess they should pull the entire website down, not even showing their product lineup, just waiting for the next generation products.

If the 32GB on my iphone 7plus wasn't too small for my need, I'd still be using it today.
I set off to purchase an 8plus 256GB, but ended up with a 14prm 128GB....

My wife uses a 15 Pro, while I am perfectly happy with the iPhone 14 Pro, and don't see another upgrade to another iPhone for a few years. My wife didn't even want to upgrade from her 13 Pro; I just bought the iPhone 15 Pro and handed it to her as a gift. Also she asked me to make sure I set it up for her without Apple AI, and to not upgrade her phone again until she asks for it :)

Buddy you ain't gonna believe this but ever since the websites inception they would promote their current products while hyping an event showing future products. IT'S CRAZY. But THANK YOU for shining light on this practice that they, and several other companies have now done for decades. Real hard hitting man!

Apple is also "pushing" Music, Apple Pay, News, iCloud, and even TV.
