I got 64GB wifi new Ipad 3rd gen is in the processing period so I can't cancel it.

Anyways, I am thinking about getting the 64GB Verizon LTE iPad model cause I have a Galaxy Nexus LTE with unlimited data and I believe it will be safe to just slide my Verizon LTE Galaxy Nexus MicroSIM into the Verizon iPad LTE slot and get data. (Other Verizon users do put their LTE SIMs from their phones into Verizon LTE Mifi devices without any issues). Verizon doesn't stop it because of the deal they made with the US govt for the LTE spectrum bid process.

So I may decide to get the LTE Verizon iPad if I am able to do this (especially since Verizon's iPad can double as a hotspot also with my grandfathered unlimited LTE data). Verizon doesn't throttle LTE speeds at all.

So can I return my unopened wifi only iPad to any Apple retail store instead of shipping it back to Apple? From the terms, it looks like I can.

But I remember some people who purchased iPhones via online Apple store. It was a pain since they were forced to ship it back to Apple before they had their eligibility to regrade back instead of returning it to the Apple retail store.

I also bought an iPad 2 last year and returned it to brick and mortar Apple store unopened because I decided to wait for this newest model. However, I don't even think that matters anymore -- they'll take back opened items now too without charging the restocking fee.

Can someone verify this?

I'll be receiving the new iPad (black, Wi-Fi only, 32GB model) on Friday.

I regret not purchasing the 64GB model now. Does anyone have any insight as to what the resell value of the 64GB vs. 32GB will be say 9 months from now?

Thanks!

Anyone who gives you a figure is totally guessing, as you are capable of doing as well.

Just take a look and see what 32GB and 64GB iPad 2s are going for today. I guarantee you that there's a greater price difference between higher end models like the 64GB version than the 32GB version because there's more price pressure on higher end products. Why spend $600 on a 64GB iPad 2 (even if cost $699 new + tax when it came out), when you can easily get a 16-32GB iPad 3 instead with that shiny new screen?

You can absolutely exchange your ipad on Friday for one you want, the caveat of course is will you be able to find the one you want in stock within that 14 day return period? I suspect Apple will extend that 14 days for you if you don't open the package, but that's a guess on my part.

I did an online chat with Apple Customer Service because I ordered the AT&T version and I then re-thought it and I ordered the VZW version. Wanted to make sure I could return one (even if opened) to store without issue. The person said no problem with that and no re-stock fee even if opened as long as it's within the 14 day return period.

question becomes is when does the 14 day start. the moment you CC gets charged or when you receive the unit?

I went to my Apple store yesterday and told them I preordered a 16 GB for in store pickup on Friday and asked if I would be able to swap it for a 32 GB and just pay the difference on Friday. He said I would be welcome to, but I would have to stand in the standby non-preorder line to do so. Apparently the pre-order pickup line is meant to go fast and they won't be doing anything special there.
