I want all Internet traffic (WiFi and cellular) on my 4G enabled iPad to be routed through an HTTP Proxy Server that I specify. To do this I downloaded Apple Configurator on my Mac. I then connected my iPad to my Mac and clicked on the "Prepare" tab in Apple Configurator. I changed the iPad to a supervised state and created a profile. In that profile I configured a payload under "Gloabl HTTP Proxy" by entering my HTTP Proxy Server information. Then I clicked on the "Prepare" button near the bottom of Apple Configurator. Apple Configurator proceeded to erase my iPad and restore it to the most recent version of iOS 7. It also applied the proxy settings specified in the profile I had created.

When I set up my ipad as a "new ipad", everything worked perfectly. All web traffic was routed through the proxy as I had intended.

I then connected my ipad to iTunes and did a restore from a backup stored on my Mac. And this is where I encountered a problem. Apparently the "restore from backup" reverted my ipad to default settings because the profile that I had applied in Apple Configurator did not remain in effect. Web traffic is no longer being routed through the proxy server.

How can I do a "backup restore" in iTunes without having it override my Apple Configurator profile?
