Apple today confirmed on its website that iPadOS 16 and macOS Ventura will launch in October.

iPadOS 16 and macOS Ventura pages on Apple's website confirm that both software updates will be released in October. On a related note, Apple says new AirPods Pro features such as Personalized Spatial Audio profiles and Find My support for the charging case will be available when iPadOS 16 and macOS Ventura are released in October.

iPadOS 16 was confirmed to have been delayed by Apple earlier last month and will not launch alongside iOS 16, which will be released Monday, September 12. macOS Ventura and iPadOS 16 will likely launch after an October event focused on the iPad and Mac.

i'm curious how iOS 16 / watchOS 9 will sync with iPadOS 15 and Big Sur

I was expecting iPad OS to launch with Pro Apps like FCP and Logic Pro. There’s no sign so far. The device still feels like a Focus running a Mustang engine.
Watching iPadOS development is like watching the knight guy in Monty Python and the Holy Grail endlessly running towards the castle. Before it’ll mature, M1 Pro will belong to a museum.

Last time I checked, October is still in the Fall season. Good on Apple for keeping their word.

iPadOS, at least Stage Manager, has a long way to go. Hope Apple can pull it off!

Likely there is another Apple event for iPads and Macs (Mac Pro?) in October.

I guess there’s being a Mac event in October then, as opposed to November. Got to release Mac Pro before the end of the year to meet that two-year transition timeline.

Good news for schools, Apple delaying iPadOS 16 and macOS 13.
iPadOS 15 and macOS 12 have had very big issue with bugs, one of them being the WiFi certificate.
iPadOS 15 and macOS 12 are one of the worst of all time when it comes to bugs for now.

Yup, it's just as I predicted. First I'll upgrade my iPad 7G and my M1 MacBook Air, and then I'll try an OpenCore install of Ventura on my 2015 Retina 15" MacBook Pro.

With the release of Ventura, I'll finally be satisfied with the integrity of the previous version so I'll be upgrading from Big Sur to Monterey at that point. The days of trusting the functionality and stability of new software releases by Apple are long gone for me...

Unless we get a surprise holiday present point release, bad news on that front as Monterey is going to be stuck with unfixed bugs as well. See Eclectic Light Company, Howard Oakley keeps good tabs on this.
