I used to think these deals were a big deal (sorry), but then, everything seems to be discounted all the time. I'm sure some of these are great, but it feels like something might just be an extra 5% off. Sometimes, it's easier to just buy stuff when you need it. Less wasteful and helpful to not buy stuff you don't need

It seems like a lot of places were having sales all summer long, most likely due to covid. I know I got my airpods for $99, which is still $10 lower than the lowest Black Friday sale I saw.

It looks like you can upgrade from Parallels 15 to 16 for free if you have a subscription. There is an upgrade fee which makes it a little confusing but I think that's for the non-subscription version. Can anyone confirm?

I have both. Love VMWare.
Parallels are such a spammy company via email and within their software: it’s more intrusive by inserying itself deeper in macOS UI.
Vastly different vibe and experience.

This. I put an entry in my host file to block the parallels update prompts as i do with many apps and the app will automatically comment it out and re-enable the pestering of new versions. Only way was to lock the host file using sudo chflags schg

Anyways it's a non issue. Fusion is free now.

With the release of VMware Fusion 12: the product split is “Pro” and “Player” for both Workstation Station 12 and “Fusion 12”.

Fusion 12 Player, in line with Workstation 12 Player, is now free for personal non-commercial use, with no features taken away and with support for macOS Big Sur.
Just have to register.
