Apple developing 3G iPhone with Interdigital (patent deal signed on sept. 6th)

Proof of 3G? I think so.
I'm surprised there is no interest in your posting. Seams like this would be fodder for much discussion.
Anyway, I personally don't think 3G will be the be all/end all that will make me wait to but our 2nd iPhone (for my wife). I use the Edge network and IF 3G sucks the life out of my batteries, I'd rather stick with Edge. It's much more important for me to have longer battery life than 3G. That is IF this is true that 3G will use up that much of the battery that everyone is saying it will.

At one time, EDGE was a new technology and had chipsets that were relatively huge and used a lot of battery. Look at EDGE now.
I dont know where in the cycle of development with 3G we are, but hopefully more battery efficient 3G stuff will be coming soon!
