I pre-ordered iphone 4s on 7th october and i have received the phones. they haven't charged me anything...
should i be happy that its a glitch and i got the phone 4 free ??

Don't spend the money, you may be charged soon. I'd wait a short while and then contact them about it. Otherwise you might end up being charged later down the line!

Get in touch with your bank first, see if there are any pending transactions or earmarked funds.

before you start buying rounds for the house ... they will likely still charge you when they ship :apple:

It's the weekend, give it until Tuesday. I bet it'll show by then.

Yes, be happy. And no, it's not a glitch. Apple likes to randomly reward customers with a free iPhone.

Seriously? Soon, you will be charged.

Can't speak with Apple but a certain company gave me a free Xbox 360 250GB Slim by not taking any money out. I hope you get lucky too. :p

look i know its possible ...coz when i spoke to the apple people on phone she said this is unusual because they always take money straight away after delivering phone

Listen you're going to get charged. Even if they made a mistake, they will find it and charge you. I know it's nice to think that you could get away with not paying, but it's not gonna happen. Make sure you have the money either in the bank or on credit card.

I believed you until you contradicted yourself.

You said they said they already received the money for it. Then you said they thought it was unusual until that they shipped it before billing you.

Apple haven't taken my money either.... :S

i ordered on the 7th and immediately the money was deducted from my available balance, but the transaction did not show up on my statement. A few days later my balance went back up to the previous sum and i received my iPhone last friday and the money still has not been taken out.

Maybe they will take it at the end of the month like they do with App Store/iTunes Purchases, i wouldn't get too happy. ;)

They take a few days, Just had my invoice sent via email. it should show as paid in a couple of days.

ring your bank and report your card as lost, hope for the best...

i wasn't charged when i pre-ordered on the 7th. nor did i get charged when i picked it up on the 14th.

i JUST got charged today.

People should realize by now that online banking is notoriously inaccurate.

AT&T took the money out of my account as a pending charge immediately, and then several times it disappeared and showed up again in my online account. Currently the money is sitting in my online account and shows no pending transactions for the amount of the phone. Still, I realize that the money IS going to post as spent very soon, probably in the next 24-48 hours.

Don't trust what the online bank information tells you.

They've charged you, trust me.

Yup you will get charged. I love how people think... seriously you think this many people they would just forget to charge? There is a process in the way things work, and I think it would be pretty much next to impossible that in that process the system would just "forget" to charge someone.

Think about it, it's not some person sitting at a computer charging credit cards. It's a billing system. Not saying it can never fail, but I would highly doubt if anything does fail it will be the funds processing system.

Same thing happened to me. I'm with Wells Fargo (just got moved over from Wachovia), and they had a hold on the account for the iPhone 4S and another for the AppleCare+. I looked last night and both are gone. I got the phone on Friday but I assume after tonight they will post.

Retailers have something like six months to charge your card for a transaction. I've had transactions that were pulled and then charged again three weeks later.

It will post within a couple of days. I preordered on 10/7 and my debit card was charged immediately. After a week, my order status never changed from processing items. On the 14th I decided to cancel my order and try my luck at picking one up at the local Apple Store. The original order has not been credited but it should post in a couple of days. Trust me, Apple isn't the #1 or 2 Company because of sloppy business practices. I would not spend that money or your bank is going to be charging you an overdraft fee...

I got my first iPhone 4 directly from Apple for free. When I purchased it in store I asked if I could have a blank micro sim card. I was given one, which was scanned into the till with the iPhone. The amount to be debited to my card came up as £499 when I typed in my PIN, and I opted to be emailed the receipt. Normally, this receipt would arrive instantly, but it never did, and the £499 never showed up on my card. It was only a few months down the line when I tried to use another sim card in the phone that I found it was locked to the network I had been on when I first bought it. My theory is that because I was given a micro sim along with the phone, the system somehow thought I was buying an iPhone on contract, so didn't charge me for the cost of the phone. What was missing was the actual contract, so I got it for free.
